Newcastle diet days three and four
Wade felt awful yesterday and I wasn't great. We went to the doc to get something for the chest pain Wade has been having (not his heart) and he had lost 19 lbs in about two weeks. Too fast, but he is a BIG guy. Being twice normal weight, I guess he will lose twice the normal amount. He is feeling a little better this morning. Neither of us has felt cold, but it's August in Alabama. Cold isn't likely.
We both have had cold sweats, though, and felt like we're about to die. Don't know if that is the "keto flu" or a manifestation of other stuff wrong with us. We have both have a headache, too, but heck, we are coming off sugar, a drug more addictive than cocaine. Withdrawal is inevitable. In any case, we are not about to give up. Yeah, we have gotten hungry but it's not unbearable. Who would ever have believed that I would look forward to a salad? We are putting a splash of coconut aminos and basalmic vinager, no oil, on the greens and it tastes good. We are out of our BioTrust protein and are having to use an old bottle of chocolate EAS. Frankly, the EAS tastes better than the BioTrust chocolate, but I've already ordered enough vanilla creme BioTrust for three people, three meals a day for eight weeks and it's good stuff. I'll be trying flavoring extracts to give a different taste, every few days. And I wonder what the UPS guy will think about bringing sixty-five pounds of protein powder to a residence!
We aren't seeing much change in blood sugar yet, but the next few days should tell the tale. Also, I've been away from the house and the glucometer, so don't have all the readings.
Still we feel triumphant. We can do this.
